y’all can hate me if you want but incest is one of the only universal taboos across cultures and its violation triggers a deep-seated revulsion and intrigue that can be employed to great effect in fiction. it immediately sets the mood. it grabs the readers attention. it demands interrogation, a deeper engagement with the material. it’s always a shock and memorable. and even when it’s only hinted at, our acculturation means it always catches our eye, like someone entering a still classroom twenty minutes late, and then we doubt ourselves, because did they just? surely not. it throws the rest of the narrative in a sharper relief as you look harder for evidence for or against automatically. It’s a VERY useful tool to tell a story and it works on so many levels and you can go ewwww take it away 0 stars all you want but people knew this before they knew to wipe their asses to not die of cholera and they’re gonna continue writing stories where people fuck their brothers and have babies with their moms because even if you close the book in disgust you’re going to remember it!

It can't be overstated how powerful the catharsis is when a scene of a character connecting with their wounded inner child is done right. The key poses...the expressions...the timing...storytelling like this can help to provide some healing for so many people in the audience.

I cannot express enough that if your reaction, as a hobby artist, to not getting that many notes on your art is to say "maybe I should just stop doing art altogether" you need to stop posting art to tumblr

not necessarily forever, not even for long, but just stop putting your art on here and start doing it for you again, remember why you enjoyed doing art in the first place and stop relying on the attention of faceless people on the internet for your enjoyment of your hard work

believe me, I get it, nothing crushes the artistic soul quite like labouring for hours on a piece only for it to get like 10 notes, so you need to find your own source of joy in the act of creation and a lot of the time that means making art and not showing it to anybody

MK would literally be so happy to see his Hero. Naturally just feel safe with him and stick close. Kind of clinging to Wukong.

Macaque wouldn't be thrilled as he knows the dangers and isn't sure Wukong is thinking this all the way through. That MK would be safer in the human realm then with them but... one look would be all it took.

Xiaoxiao and MK would know right away however. Might not understand what this connection is as they are little (About 5 I would say) but they know enough to be crying when they see each other.

Jimmy only commits his worse moments when he’s alone with each individual character.

It’s implied he corners Anya in her room. He brutalizes Curly when everyone else is busy under the guise of medicine. He convinces Daisuke to go into the vent when Swansea can’t stop him. He kills Swansea after everyone is dead. It really highlights the type of violence he commits. He is a coward, he won’t take his chance if there is a possibility of active conflict, yet, he jumps on the opportunity to do so when there’s no risk. Not just when there’s no one to stop him but when he knows there’s no one to witness it. To judge and directly call out his faults.

No one outside himself to really see him as the monster he would never admit he is.
